Daytime Burning is NOT Permitted
Open air burning is regulated by the Town of Gravenhurst Burning Control By-law. Between April 1 and October 31 each year, daytime burning is not permitted.
All open air burning is subject to the Forest Fire Danger Rating and Fire bans. There are also size limits, clearance limits and fire control measures you must have in place as well as other provisions under the bylaw which you must know if you decide to burn.
If property owners, their renters or guests choose to disobey this by-law and endanger your neighbours, reports can be made by calling 705-687-3412, Extension 2905 and fines can be levied as per the current Town of Gravenhurst Monetary Administrative Penalty By-law, and can include firefighting recovery costs.
