DAYTIME BURNING
Between April 1 and October 31 each year, open air burning is regulated by the Town of Gravenhurst Burning Control By-law
Daytime burning is not permitted. All open air burning is subject to the Forest Fire Danger Rating and Fire bans. There are also size limits, clearance limits and fire control measures you must have in place as well as other provisions under the bylaw which you must know if you decide to burn.
If property owners, their renters or guests choose to disobey this by-law and endanger your neighbours, you can be fined as per the current Town of Gravenhurst Monetary Administrative Penalty By-law, and can include firefighting recovery costs.
FIREWORKS - Fire Bans and Noise By-law
Fireworks are regulated by the Forest Fire Danger Rating and Fire bans as well as the noise bylaws. Some jurisdictions in Muskoka have complete fireworks bans due to noise, dangerous, unlawful misuse, disposal and impact on the natural environment.
