How to Pay

Why Our Membership Fees Increased

The MLRA annual membership fee has been $25 for many years.

At the 2022 MLRA Labour Day meeting, the attendees requested that the membership fee be raised.  The members discussed the amount and voted to increase it to $50. At the 2023 MLRA Spring 2023 AGM, the members reviewed and confirmed the decision to increase the membership fee to $50 effective 2023.

The membership fee increase allows us to create a contingency fund to secure professional services, such as planners or lawyers, when we need to challenge proposed developments that would endanger Morrison Lake.

Reinforcing this decision is the current concern regarding the potential expansion of the Lantern Bay Resort up Morrison Creek onto Morrison Lake.

This contingency fund will be used to protect one of your most valuable assets, your cottage property!

Currently, there are 228 waterfront properties on Morrison Lake, of which slightly less than half of these owners pay their membership fee each year.

If you are currently not paying your annual membership fee, there are many reasons why we hope you will start.

The MLRA and its Executive will continue to work diligently towards helping you protect the environment of the lake and your valuable real estate asset.

Sincerely,

Your MLRA Executive
